I read this article in The Metro (free daily commuter newspaper) earlier this week:-

When you park at the supermarket and return, laden with bags, your brain can - usually - quickly navigate the cars, turning recognition into action. Remembering this rapidly learnt location is the job of the hippocampus. Neurons in its mid-section link the position of the car with a behaviour trigger. This means you can associate finding the vehicle with actually getting to it, says Nottingham University's Dr Tobias Bast, who led a study into the phenomenon."
I assume that he was paid for this study - nice work if you can get it!
