At today's Northern Brain Friendly Learning Group, I posed the question about how do you make the normally dry legal &/or technical training Brain Friendly and as always the suggestions made were extremely helpful.

Ideas from the group brains included mmaking sure that the initial contracting conversation identified the client's needs; using props such as monopoly money; consider the difference between style & delivery; get delegates to create case studies; do floor exercises; jargon busting sessions; use of 52 ways; give detail in pre or post course material using the session to work through the concepts.

As always the brain that is Stella hit the nail on the head when she suggested that we should not think of it as difficult or dry but to make up our minds that the material is brain friendly and which of the concepts are we going to use to help the learner!

Thanks to everyone for their input. More than happy to receive other suggestions from people hwo could not make the meeting.

Hi all
I read this excellent article on Training Zone about why IT/ process/ systems training doesn't really work and how support systems are a much better way - technical support is one way of being brain friendly.

www.trainingzone.co.uk/topic/learning-te...logies/how-not-train

Definitely worth a read.
