Hi everyone,

We are now well into January so I thought I would let you know more about the upcoming BFLG meetings.

12th February 2010 - Reading
I am really looking forward to this one! The topic is “Learning through music” Does music impact upon how well we learn? If so why? Do you want to incorporate music into your learning sessions but don’t know how? In this session Ally McCulloch and Paul Wright will challenge some of the common myths about music and learning and share ideas on how and when to use music to improve results.Take a look at this video to find out more -http://www.brainfriendlytrainer.com/about/music-at-reading-bflg

Ally and Paul are both passionate about brain friendly learning. Their expertise and enthusiasm are truly inspiring so I can't wait to see and hear what they have in store for us.

19th March 2010 - Chester
Danny and Stella will facilitate a session entitled "Dungeon to Delight" which looks at something which has a signiicant impact on all of us - the training environment.
In this session we will consider how to recognise a brain friendly learning environment and identify ways in which you can transform any training room into a stimulating and inspiring environment.

How much choice do you get in choosing your training environment?

Why have a brain friendly environment? What are the benefits?

How will you recognise the signs of an effective training environment?

How can you transform a 'dungeon' into a 'delight' on a budget, with limited resources and so people know it's business focussed (not just games)?

I hope to see you there and if you need anything just let me know.

Hi Tina,

Thanks for describing the session so enthusiastically, Paul and I are really looking forward to it.

We've put the framework together and are working on the detail design this week.

In addition to all the things I outline in the 4-minute video, we've decided to also do a piece on how non-musicians can use using musical instruments to help learners encounter new content in a fun and memorable way. I've sourced 5 drums and a box of percussion instruments over the weekend that we'll bring along

If anyone has any questions about the session, please ask them here or use the form below the video on our website
